Fire-Rated Access Panels For Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Systems
Professional Fire-Rated Access Panel Installations
Commercial kitchen exhaust systems must remain accessible for inspection, maintenance and cleaning throughout their service life.
When sections of grease ductwork become inaccessible due to missing access openings, undersized access doors or system design limitations, portions of the system may become impossible to properly inspect, clean or maintain.
Where access is insufficient or missing, properly installed fire rated access panels provide safe access while maintaining the integrity of the duct assembly and applicable fire resistance ratings.
Complete Kitchen Exhaust supplies and installs fire rated access panels for commercial kitchen exhaust systems throughout Ontario in accordance with NFPA 96 requirements and applicable fire code requirements.
Simply put:
We can’t clean what we can’t reach.
Why Fire-Rated Access Panels Matter
A commercial kitchen exhaust system extends far beyond the visible hood canopy.
Grease accumulation often occurs inside hidden sections of ductwork that cannot be inspected or serviced without proper access.
Without adequate access openings, technicians cannot verify cleaning results or inspect the condition of the entire system.
A clean hood does not always mean a clean system.
Fire-Rated Access Panels And Grease Duct Restorations
Additional access panels are often required during grease duct restoration projects where heavy grease accumulation has built up over many years of inadequate maintenance or inaccessible system design.
In some cases, routine cleaning services also reveal areas that cannot be properly serviced due to insufficient access.
When accessibility issues are identified, Complete Kitchen Exhaust provides photographic documentation along with practical recommendations designed to improve long-term maintainability and serviceability.
Deficiency Reporting And Documentation
When inaccessible duct sections, missing access panels or damaged access doors are identified, we provide detailed deficiency reporting supported by photographs and written recommendations.
This documentation allows facility owners, contractors and property managers to make informed decisions regarding repairs and future maintenance requirements.
We don’t simply point out problems.
