Commercial Cooking Equipment Cleaning & Restoration

Commercial Cooking Equipment Cleaning & Restoration

Commercial cooking equipment works hard every single day.

Over time, grease, carbon and food residue accumulate on cooking surfaces, burner assemblies and accessible equipment components. As these deposits are repeatedly exposed to heat, they become baked onto the equipment and eventually require restoration rather than routine cleaning.

For most restaurants, hotels, long-term care facilities, schools and institutional kitchens, detailed equipment restoration simply is not practical to perform in-house.

Kitchen staff rarely have the time, specialized chemicals, restoration equipment or experience required to remove years of accumulated grease and carbon while still keeping the kitchen operating efficiently.

That is where Complete Kitchen Exhaust comes in.

Since 2013, we have provided professional commercial cooking equipment cleaning and restoration services throughout Toronto, the GTA and Southern Ontario alongside our core services including Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning, Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Restoration and Fire-Rated Access Panel Installation.

Our goal is simple:

Restore heavily contaminated equipment to a cleaner, safer and more maintainable condition while improving the appearance and cleanliness of the entire cooking line.

Why Professional Equipment Cleaning & Restoration Is Different

Restaurant and Commercial kitchens are designed to prepare food, not restore years of carbon buildup.

Once grease has hardened and carbonized, standard degreasers and routine cleaning procedures are often no longer effective.

Professional restoration cleaning may involve:

  • Manual carbon scraping
  • Commercial-grade degreasers
  • Detailed hand cleaning
  • Removal and cleaning of accessible burner assemblies
  • Cleaning of removable burner components
  • Controlled pressure washing where appropriate
  • Final detailing and restoration work

The amount of labour required depends on the equipment type, previous maintenance history and overall condition of the cooking line.

What Is Included In Equipment Cleaning & Restoration?

Our service focuses primarily on the visible and accessible areas of commercial cooking equipment.

This commonly includes:

  • Cooking surfaces
  • Visible stainless-steel surfaces
  • Burner assemblies
  • Wok burner components
  • Accessible grease collection areas
  • Visible equipment frames
  • Removable burner components

Where appropriate, burner assemblies and removable burner components may be taken apart and cleaned as part of the restoration process.

Commercial cooking equipment is not mechanically disassembled, disconnected or unscrewed from gas, electrical or plumbing connections as part of a standard equipment cleaning service.

Cleaning behind equipment or along inaccessible side surfaces may be available upon request depending on equipment layout, spacing and access limitations.

When Routine Cleaning Is No Longer Enough

There is a significant difference between wiping down stainless steel and restoring years of accumulated grease and carbon.

Our technicians are often called when restaurant staff have reached the point where normal cleaning methods, overnight maintenance and standard degreasers are no longer producing results.

Equipment restoration is physically demanding work that frequently involves manual scraping, commercial restoration chemicals, burner disassembly, agitation and controlled pressure washing to remove contamination that has built up over months or years of operation.

The goal is not strictly cosmetic detailing. The priority is to remove as much grease and carbon buildup as reasonably possible from the visible and accessible areas of the equipment while improving cleanliness, presentation and future maintainability.

We believe customers should be able to see the difference for themselves.

Whenever practical, our technicians provide before and after photo documentation to clearly show the condition of the equipment before service and the results achieved during restoration.

The same documentation process is used during our Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning services and our Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Restoration services to provide complete transparency for our customers.

Combine Cooking Equipment Restoration With Other Services

Many customers choose to combine cooking equipment restoration with other maintenance services to reduce downtime and improve the condition of the entire kitchen.

Related services include:

These services are often completed together during regular kitchen exhaust cleaning, grease trap cleaning or remediation projects.

When Restoration is Required

Standard cleaning methods are not always sufficient. When grease has hardened into carbon, manual scraping by hand is required before degreasing and pressure washing can be effective.
